I’m sure anybody who listens to music has some songs they really like. For me, my favorite songs keeps changing as newer, nicer songs come out. Recent ones are Naraku no Hana, Beautiful World, My Heart Draws A Dream, Gravity and Hitotoshite Jiku ga Bureteiru. But there’s always a special song, one that doesn’t bore you out, that one single track that amazes you everytime you listen to it. For me, its…

Minori Chihara(Yuki Nagato) - Yuki, Muon, Madobe Nite.

Surprised? I don’t think so. This is probably the best song out of all the character albums(COOL EDITION comes close).

The song uses a combination of synth bass(I think), electric guitar and of course, Minorin’s trademark, violin. While this may seem like a weird combination(electric guitar+violin), the end result is actually quite nice. The song starts with a buildup, then explodes into deep sounding bass. Thump Thump Thump… Minori, or perhaps its better to say Yuki’s voice comes in and the song is already like OMGAWESOME. Violins follows and the rest is all blurred in godliness.

There is a quite a long buildup before the chorus, like a second(yeah, but in the song its long), and the electric guitar and violin combo kicks in. The second half of the chorus is kinda like the climax to me, where the violin really shines. The violin goes seamlessly with the vocals, its almost heavenly.

Again, the violin takes the cake in the bridge, with a beautiful vocaless piece. If you really want to hear the instruments, listen to the off vocal version, but that wouldn’t do Minorin justice. She really sings like Yuki, if you know what I mean. Its unlike, say, her Lucky Star Minami character vol, where the singing doesn’t sound like Minami’s voice. Or Yutaka’s album. I can go on forever about how their character song vol suck, but meh.

Its one of the few songs from Minori that I really like. Another similar one would be Kimi ga Kureta Ano Hi, but that’s not as fantastic as this. Frankly, I was disappointed with Minami’s character album for the lack of such a music style. It’ll be really nice if Minori Chihara can sing more of these type of songs.

EDIT: bj0rN has gotten a post on Minorin’s new album, CONTACT. The PV for Shijin no Tabi looks nice, and I’m glad to say that the song sounds like it was done in Yuki, Muon, Madobe Nite. style. I’ll be looking forward to it.
